Phoenix Symphony: Beethoven 7th Symphony, Chopin 2nd Piano Concerto and Private Alumni Reception
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Phoenix Ivy Council is partnering with the Phoenix Symphony to offer our members discounted tickets to Beethoven's renowned and beloved 7th Symphony and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2. Several artists will join us for a private Phoenix Ivy Council cocktail reception preceding the concert. The conductor and artists will speak to our alumni about the performance and meet with our members. Aventura Catering will provide chilled hors d’oeuvres and appetizers at our alumni reception, including: Prosciutto, Genoa Salami, Capicola, Artichoke Hearts, Focaccia, Bruschetta, Dried Fruit, Lavosh, Flatbread, beverages and a no-host cocktail bar.
Our private Phoenix Ivy Council reception will be followed by three masterworks that have enthralled audiences. Guest conductor Rei Hotoda, Music Director Designate of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, opens the evening with “blue cathedral,” a poignant tone poem by three-time Grammy Award winner Jennifer Higdon, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Next is a solo performance by Natasha Paremski, a critically acclaimed pianist and local favorite. Critics have praised her dynamic virtuosity when performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, which ranks as one of the most celebrated early Romantic masterpieces, often appearing among the top tier of the classical keyboard repertoire. The concert finishes with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, an elemental, propulsive work full of driving energy that pushes an orchestra to its absolute limit. What audiences also remember is the gravitas of the second movement, featured in the climactic scene of the 2010 film “The King’s Speech.”
This promises to be an outstanding event to connect in person with other alumni, while enjoying the musical offerings of one of our city's premier cultural institutions.
Please secure your registration in advance since this event has a limited capacity of only 100 alumni and guests.
