doverescherDover Quartet and Escher Quartet (Phoenix Ivy Council)

In a rare concert, the internationally renowned Dover and Escher Quartets will come together to play the beautiful and spectacular Mendelssohn Octet for Strings, on February 22, 2020, at Central United Methodist Church. The Dover Quartet, in residence at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music, catapulted into international stardom after sweeping all prizes at the Banff Competition in 2013, and is one of the most in-demand string quartets in the world.

The Phoenix Ivy Council is partnering with the Phoenix Chamber Music Society to host a private pre-concert reception for our alumni to meet and chat with members of the Dover Quartet from 6:30 to 7:10 pm. Despite their youth the Dovers have already celebrated 10 years as a professional touring quartet and will share what they hope will be the next steps in their career; they will be happy to take your questions as well.

The evening's program also includes Dvorak's famous Serenade for Strings in E Major and the AZ premiere of rising star composer Chris Rogerson's Duo for Viola and Cello, to be performed by the wife (Dover Quartet) and husband (Escher Quartet) team of Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt and Brook Speltz.

Tickets: $50
