About The Astronomer:

Joe LLama is an Assistant Astronomer at Lowell Observatory who's research interests focus on solar systems throughout our galaxy and their potential for habitability. His current projects include searching for exoplanetary magnetic fields and understanding the role these fields play in shielding a planet from the harmful radiation from their host star. He also studies how stellar activity can hinder our ability to detect the atmospheres of exoplanets.
